November 08, 2022 : Recently Molina Healthcare of California donated furniture and other supplies to promote a complete room makeover for an area that will be utilized as a secure, private client space at McAlister Institute, one of San Diego County’s biggest alcohol and drug treatment providers.

The donation was done as part of Molina’s Make a Difference Day outreach in local residents.

“Molina is committed to making an impact in our community by providing resources to individuals in need,” stated Abbie Totten, plan president of Molina Healthcare. “McAlister offers a safe place to seek treatment and get the necessary support required for individual recovery journeys.” Open to all people seeking treatment, McAlister provides high-quality services and an exhaustive array of programs for the precluding and treatment of alcoholism and drug addiction. These include intervention services, adult outpatient and residential treatment and detox programs, group homes for adolescents ages 12 to 17, and housing for women reunifying with their children through Child Welfare Services.

“We are grateful for the difference Molina has made by creating this space at our facility,” said Hollie Lopez, program manager at the South Bay Regional Recovery Center. “Having a therapy room will have a huge impact on our clients by helping them to feel more comfortable and open to the recovery process.”

Molina will also donate supplies for the McAlister laundry room.
