June 7, 2023 : Hartford HealthCare, and GoHealth will unlock a primary care and walk-in urgent care center recently in West Haven.
The center, at 1 Cellini Place around the Boston Post Road in Allingtown, shares the site with Hartford HealthCare Rehabilitation Network, which fanned in January, according to a Hartford HealthCare representative.
This will be the 26th HHC-GoHealth urgent-care center, the spokeswoman stated. Hartford HealthCare has additional sites that are not affiliated with GoHealth, she stated.
“Hartford HealthCare is dedicated to transforming health care, bringing the highest grade, most affordable and equitable care to all residents of Connecticut,” stated Karen Goyette, executive vice president of Hartford HealthCare in an email.
“Increasingly, this implies providing the highest quality care in lower-cost settings, with opportunities like urgent care and ambulatory surgery means, as well as a network of home-based and community assistance. This helps lower health care costs for all, while enhancing access to care,” she said.
The site is part of an association with Physicians Alliance of Connecticut.
By extending walk-in centers that are accessible and affordable, Hartford HealthCare has declined non-emergency visits to emergency departments by 10% since 2016, Goyette expressed.
“Nearly 40% of our surgeries are now completed outside of hospitals and in more affordable settings. This creates care more affordable overall and ensures better coordination of consideration,” she stated.
