The deceased, identified as 28-year-old Alex Reid, received the AstraZeneca vaccine in 2021. He subsequently developed a rare blood clot condition known as vaccine-induced immune thrombotic thrombocytopenia (VITT), which ultimately led to his death.

The inquest revealed that Mr. Reid’s medical records erroneously classified him as morbidly obese at the time of vaccination. This error stemmed from a mistake over a decade earlier when his weight was incorrectly recorded at a much higher value.
